Pedestrian Is Listed In Critical Condition After SUV Hits Him

Florida Highway Patrol discovered that the pedestrian did not yield to traffic before he was hit.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — A 48-year-old St. Petersburg man was seriously injured after an SUV hit him Tuesday evening in the St. Pete area, a Florida Highway Patrol news release said.

Authorities said a woman who drove an SUV traveled westbound in the inside lane of 62nd Avenue North towards 33rd Way North, and by the time she made it to the intersection of the two cross streets, the pedestrian didn't stop to check for traffic and was hit by the SUV.

The man was listed as critically injured, said the Florida Highway Patrol.

The driver and her two passengers were not injured.

Due to Marsy's Law, identities will not be released by the Florida Highway Patrol.
