'Person of Interest' in Teen's Shooting Death Arrested
The St. Petersburg Police Department announced the arrest Wednesday.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL – The man wanted in connection with the shooting death of a 17-year-old St. Petersburg boy has been brought into custody.
According to the St. Petersburg Police Department, Drew Allen Reed, 27, surrendered to detectives at his attorney’s office Tuesday evening.
“He refused to speak to us, but he did turn over the vehicle he says he was driving the night of the shooting,” an email from the agency to media stated.

At present, Reed is charged as a felon in possession of a firearm. He was named as a “person of interest” in the Dec. 17 death of Tyler Lord, 17, last week. Lord’s body was found in the alley of 1828 16th St. S. shortly before 1 a.m. The boy, police said, had been shot.
“Investigators have determined both parties were armed during the encounter that led to Lord’s death,” the police department said in its email.

The case is now being referred to the State Attorney’s office to determine what, if any, further charges will be filed.
