Pinellas Park Woman Dies After Car Hits Her In St. Pete: Troopers

A woman died after a car hit her in St. Petersburg as she tried to cross 62nd Ave N not using the nearby crosswalk, said deputies.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — A 65-year-old Pinellas Park woman died of her injuries on Halloween night after a car hit her on 62nd Avenue North, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

A St. Petersburg woman drove her sedan eastbound on 62nd Avenue North near 42nd Avenue North at 11 p.m., authorities said.

The victim, who was not walking in the crosswalk, was hit by the sedan as she tried to cross 62nd Ave N, investigators said.

The victim died at a local hospital, according to deputies.

Due to Marsy's Law, Florida Highway Patrol will not release the name of the victim or the driver.
