Pinellas Schools Support Employees of the Year Announced

Pinellas County Schools’ 2011-12 Support Employee of the Year will be named at a recognition breakfast, Thursday, Jan. 12, 2012, at the Feather Sound Country Club, 2201 Feather Sound Dr., Clearwater.

The nine finalists and 12 semifinalists will be honored before the Support Employee of the Year is announced. These outstanding employees are representatives of Pinellas County Schools’ more than 6,200 full- and part-time support employees who are committed to student success, a district news release said.

This year’s 142 nominations were judged by a group of district volunteers before the finalists and semifinalists were selected in three categories: 

• Direct Involvement with Students (employee spends 75 percent or more of his/her work hours in direct contact with students),
• Indirect Involvement with Students (employee spends less than 25 percent of his/her work hours in direct contact with students),
• Limited Involvement with Students (employee spends little or none of his/her work hours in direct contact with students).
