St. Petersburg Police have identified the pedestrian who died after being struck by a Jeep SUV on 34th Street North Monday.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — St. Petersburg Police have identified the pedestrian who died after being struck by a Jeep SUV on 34th Street North Monday.
Around 2:15 p.m., Jerry Wayne VanDyke, 72, was attempting to cross 34th Street North when he tripped on a curb and fell into the path of a Jeep driven by Danelle Monique Mullis, 40.
Mullis hit her brakes and tried to swerve to avoid VanDyke, but the right front corner of her Jeep struck him.

He was transported to Bayfront Health St Petersburg with life-threatening injuries and died later that night.
