Rapid expansion leads to 60 new hires at Neal Communities

Record-breaking sales and growth have been accompanied by a rapid expansion of the workforce at Neal Communities.

Record-breaking sales and growth have been accompanied by a rapid expansion of the workforce at Neal Communities (www.nealcommunities.com), Southwest Florida’s premier homebuilder. Since the beginning of 2014, Neal has added 60 new employees—and who are now making a major civic and economic contribution to their communities.

Overall, the Neal team sold a company record 864 new homes in 2014, earning $276 million in revenue and opening nine new communities from Manatee County to Collier. Such astounding figures allowed Neal to hire 52 new employees in 2014, with eight more jobs filled in the first two weeks of 2015. Those numbers represent a greater than 20 percent increase in the company’s workforce, with more soon to come. Additionally, Neal is currently interviewing candidates for four more positions in its southern division, with six more scheduled to open up later this year.

The hiring initiative sets the stage for what the company expects to be an even more successful 2015, the first in an ambitious five-year growth plan. Neal will add eight new communities in the first quarter of 2015, four of them in Hillsborough County, the first new Hillsborough homes in Neal’s 44-year history. The company is also adding three new communities in Lee County this year.

The new employees augment Neal’s already-deep team, which now includes 220 full-time employees in homebuilding and real estate and 208 in the golf and hospitality sector.

“2015 is shaping up as an exceptionally strong and exciting year for us,” says Pat Neal, the CEO and founder of Neal Communities, “and we need a team that can help us meet spiking demand. We always invest in the very best people we can find, and our new additions are highly capable, enthusiastic and hardworking. They’re leaders within the company, and in their communities.”

In addition to the company’s direct employees, Neal projects also provide work for between 500 and 600 employees of the company’s partners and contractors, providing roughly $13 million in direct employment and $60 million in indirect employment. In 2014, the company paid approximately $6.5 million in property taxes, $9 million in sales taxes and $10 million in impact assessments to local governments.

“Those numbers show what a major contribution Neal Communities makes to the communities in which we work,” Neal says. “Our team builds and sells outstanding, beautiful homes, leading to huge investments in schools, public works and infrastructure, creating hundreds of jobs and making a long-lasting impact on local economic development. I’m proud to be a part of it.”
