Remodeled Aldi Grocery Store Reopens In St. Petersburg

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — The remodeled Aldi grocery store in the Skyway Marina District recently reopened, showing off its fresh new look.

The store, located at 2900 34th Street S., opened its doors on Oct. 9 so shoppers could “get a sneak peak,” according to the brand’s website. The store is open Monday through Sunday, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The discount grocery chain will celebrate the store’s grand reopening Oct. 26. A ribbon cutting ceremony will take place at 8:30 a.m.

The enhanced store boasts a new layout, open ceilings, an expanded fresh food section and a focus on sustainability.

The first 100 customers in line on Oct. 26 will receive a Golden Ticket that could be worth up to $100.

A limited number of free shopping totes are available that day, as well, and shoppers can enter to win a $500 gift card Oct. 26-29.

Aldi is adding 120 new stores this year and the company will total more than 2,400 stores nationwide by the end of 2023, according to a news release.

In 2022, the brand opened and remodeled 139 stores and welcomed 9.4 million new customers.

A new Aldi supermarket is planned in West St. Petersburg. The 28,605-square-foot store will open at 6765 22nd Ave. N. in a shopping center adjacent to Tyrone Square Mall.

Aldi announced in August that it plans to buy about 400 Winn-Dixie and Harveys Supermarket locations in Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Louisiana and Mississippi.
