School Board Fires Janssen

Pinellas County Superintendent Julie Janssen will be out of a job effective Sept. 2. The board will meet Aug. 30 to tap an interim superintendent.

Embattled Pinellas County Schools Superintendent Julie Janssen lost her job Tuesday, when school board members voted unanimously to terminate her contract.

Members voted 7-0 to fire Janssen "without cause."

Janssen's last day on the job will be Sept. 2. Board members also decided to hold another special meeting on Aug. 30 to approve an interim superintendent.
