Schools in Search Area Resume Regular Operations

Police had erected road blocks and moved students away from three schools that were in the search areas for the suspect who shot Police Officer David Crawford.

Students at Campbell Park Elementary, Melrose Elementary and John Hopkins Middle will report to their regularly assigned schools today and normal operations will be followed.

The schools had been closed Tuesday, as police searched for the suspect in the shooting death of Police Officer David Crawford. Students were sent to other schools for the day.

On Tuesday evening, police arrested 16-year-old Nicholas Lemmon Lindsay. The teenager came to police headquarters with his parents. Police say that after two hours of questioning, he admitted to the crime. He was booked into a juvenile detention facility.
