Serious Crash Closes St. Pete's Martin Luther King Street
The road is expected to remain closed until after 2 p.m.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL -- The St. Petersburg Police Department is asking motorists to steer clear of a section of Martin Luther King Street following a Thursday afternoon crash.
The agency said the road is closed in both directions following a single-car crash. The closing impacts the stretch between 44th and 46th Avenues N., the agency said.
The crash involved a car hitting a tree in a home's front yard, the agency said. The driver, a man in his 50s, was taken to a local hospital in critical condition. There were no other injuries reported.
