Shooting Death Of 22-Year-Old May Lead To Murder Charge: Police

St. Petersburg police arrested a 19-year-old man who faces a murder charge in the shooting death of a 22-year-old St. Petersburg man.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — A man faces a felony murder charge in the shooting death of a 22-year-old St. Petersburg resident last month, authorities said.

Joshua S. Pilley Jr., 19, was arrested June 9 in connection with the shooting death of Owen Melin. The victim was shot and killed during a home invasion at a friend's house located at 458 4th Ave. South on May 27.

St. Petersburg police do not believe that Pilley acted alone, and officials are asking for information about potential suspects. The family is offering a reward until Sept. 10 for information that leads to another arrest in this case.
