Shorecrest's Isabella Menna Embodies a Life of Passion
Isabella Menna, 18, performed in the theater production, "Lourdes of the Flies," by director William Leavengood.

Congratulations to Patch's September Student: Isabella Menna
senior Isabella Menna is a vibrant, determined young woman majoring in theater.
Most recently, she has played the role of Simmons in "," by writer and director, William Leavengood. She relished the role, for the character's innocence and the opportunity to act in Leavengood's production.
Menna's schedule is packed: majoring in theater, cheerleading as a co-captain for her school and working part time.
Menna views each activity as an extension of acting, where she performs – as herself – to a different crowd.
It may seem like a busy schedule, but Menna loves learning as much as she can about her craft. She enjoys living a passionate life, helping others and acting as a role model for other students.
As a young girl, Menna modeled and acted in commercials. She added to her first love of acting by participating in dance. She has studied various techniques, such as belly dancing, African tribal dance and Hawaiian dance. She also enjoys singing and was one of the original singers in the Pinellas County Youth Choir.
"Singing and dancing are part of me, but acting is part of my daily life. It's my passion," said Menna.
Menna and her family chose Shorecrest for its "phenomenal theater program."
This school year, Menna is discovering a new but related love: directing. She wants to try more directing projects outside of school assignments.
She credits her Greek and Italian parents for her optimism, strong work ethic and teaching her to follow her heart. Though her heart and mind are set on the competitive career of acting, Menna has thought about how she wants her life to be.
"I can't imagine not doing something because of fear. I can't imagine my life without acting," said Menna.
Her college goal is to pursue acting in New York or Boston. She also plans to double major in acting and psychology for multiple reasons. The science degree will help her better understand the inner workings of her characters. It could also turn into a backup career, another stage and one where she could help others.

"Do what you love, and you'll be happy. I think everyone should find their passion, and then go and do it. The money will follow if you're happy ... that's what success is," said Menna.
