While details are still murky, police spokesman Mike Puetz said the crash took place in the area of 5th Avenue Northeast and Bayshore Drive Monday morning. Preliminary indications are that the plane had four people onboard, two men and two women. One of those people is being transported as a trauma alert. It is unclear the status of the other three at this time.

“According to witnesses the plane was heading north to south when it came down in the park in an apparently landing attempt and struck a tree,” Puetz said. “The plane came to rest upright in the southern section of the park.”
