• Kitten rescued after surviving 55-foot fall from I-275 overpass in St. Pete: FHP (fox13news.com) — Emergency crews in St. Petersburg rushed to save a kitten that survived a 55-foot fall from the I-275 overpass at 3rd Avenue South, leaving it in fair condition and under veterinary care. Florida Highway Patrol, Pinellas County Animal Control, and St. Petersburg Fire Department all responded after a driver reported the stranded animal.

• St. Pete wants to build a $55 million park under I-275 (stpetecatalyst.com) — St. Petersburg is exploring a $55 million plan to turn 12 acres under and around I-275 near Central Avenue into Trails Crossing, a park and trail hub with playgrounds, markets, and safer bike and pedestrian connections. The draft master plan is moving to the full City Council, but the city still must renegotiate land use with FDOT and secure funding through grants, city budgets, and private partners.

• Rays squeeze out another win over Astros (statenews.net) — Baseball fans in St. Petersburg saw the Rays edge the Astros 3–2 at home, stretching Tampa Bay's division lead behind clutch pitching and a late sacrifice fly. The win at Tropicana Field keeps the Rays four games ahead of the Yankees as the regular season winds down.
