Sons Of The American Revolution Recognize Essay Contest Winner

SAINT PETERSBURG, FL - The Sons of the American Revolution Saint Petersburg Chapter recognized Cian McCarthy, the first place winner of the Saint Petersburg Chapter and Florida Society Sons of the American Revolution level of the George S. & Stella M. Knight Essay Contest at their General Membership in person meeting on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at 9:00am at the Saint Petersburg Yacht Club.

Cian recited his award winning essay, Thomas Jefferson: A Federal Success, A Gubernatorial Failure during the meeting. By winning the state level of the essay contest, Cian was awarded a $1000 scholarship by the Florida Society Sons of the American Revolution.

Cian is currently a senior at Shorecrest Preparatory School in Saint Petersburg. Ron Heller, Cian's instructor at Shorecrest and his parents attended the meeting.

The Sons of the American Revolution is a non-profit, non-partisan organization dedicated to enhancing education, promoting patriotism and preserving American history. Members of the Sons of the American Revolution can trace their lineage to a patriot who supported the cause of American Independence.
