6th Annual Special Operations Sporting Clay Shoot raises funds for Brian Bill Foundation
The Brian Bill Foundation hosted its 6th Annual Special Operations Sporting Clay Shoot on Oct. 25 at Tampa Bay Sporting Clays in Land O’ Lakes. The event raised an estimated $20,000 for the St. Petersburg, Florida-based nonprofit, which helps special operators heal from the invisible wounds of war.
Nearly 50 people participated in the fundraising event. In addition to shooting clay targets, attendees watched special capabilities demonstrations from the Pasco Sherriff’s Office SWAT Team. New York Times Best-Selling Author and former Navy SEAL Team SIX Commando Don Mann provided the keynote address.
A live and silent auction also took place, as well as a raffle for a Benelli 828U™ Over & Under Shotgun with engraved nickel-plated receiver. Mission BBQ catered the dinner, free of charge. Production and Process Technologies of Florida (PPT) was the headlining sponsor, and FHM Insurance Company was also a major event sponsor.

The Brian Bill Foundation provides therapeutic support to active-duty and retired U.S. Special Operations warriors dealing with post-traumatic stress, mild traumatic brain injury and chronic pain. The foundation was established to honor the memory of Navy SEAL Brian R. Bill, who was a Navy SEAL killed in action in Afghanistan in 2011.
“Not a day goes by where I don’t think about my son Brian and the sacrifice that he and his fellow servicemen made that day,” said Scott Bill, president and board chairman of the Brian Bill Foundation. “We’re so grateful for all the sponsors, shooters and other supporters—including Mike Mezrah, owner of Tampa Bay Sporting Clays—who helped make this year’s Special Operations Sporting Clay Shoot a success.”

Russ Miles won first place, Skip Schaer won second and Pat Burke won third at the 6th Annual Special Operations Sporting Clay Shoot.
About the Brian Bill Foundation
The Brian Bill Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that provides therapeutic support to active-duty and retired U.S. Special Operations warriors dealing with post-traumatic stress, mild traumatic brain injury and chronic pain. The Foundation was established to honor the memory of Navy SEAL Brian R. Bill and all of his fellow Special Operations warriors who have died in service to their nation since the onset of hostilities after Sept. 11, 2001.
