The recognized Lyndsey's painting, titled "Anti Heroine," with a Merit Award, at a recent regional competition. The painting was of a young woman and revealed some mixed and dark emotions.

"I love finding flaws in things, and within the people around me and almost exploiting them on my large-scale pieces. Everyone has secrets. I just like being more open about it than most,” the artist as a young woman said.
One day in the not too distant future, Lyndsey hopes to bring her eye for raw truth to a big city university with a solid arts program.

School activities: Beta Club
Community or volunteer work: "Each summer, if I have time between work on the weekends, I volunteer at Creative Clay or Cakewalk."
The secret to your achievements: "Honestly, a strange mixture of music and a major lack of sleep. Once I start something I tend to get really anal about finishing it. Hence the lack of sleep, I can’t finish until I’m satisfied. Some may say it's passion; others, like my mother, call it a bit insane."
Your role model: "My sister, she taught me the basics of art as a kid. She showed me how to use art as a way of coping, because to me art isn’t just something pretty but something that holds a memory and serves a purpose. She -- being an amazing artist herself -- always gives me the best criticisms; actually they’re more like a backhanded compliment than anything else. She’s so carefree and seems to always understand what I try to convey within a piece, even when they are a bit out there."
College goals: "I would like t go to Boston University. I love big cities. But I also am leaning toward Merrimack, which is also in Boston. They both have great Graphic Design programs. I would like to be a Graphic Design Editor at an art or fashion magazine."
