Homeless Man Accused Of Trying To Hire Hit Man To Kill Brother
St. Petersburg Police detectives have arrested a man they say attempted to hire an undercover detective to murder his brother.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — St. Petersburg Police detectives have arrested a man they say attempted to hire an undercover detective to murder his brother.
Gary Hudge, 54, a transient in St. Petersburg, was arrested Thursday and charged with solicitation for murder, sale of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance.
On Nov. 7, an undercover detective was introduced to Hudge who told him he was interested in having his brother, Thomas Hudge, 57, of Willis, Michigan, killed due to recent family trouble.

According to detectives, Hudge detailed financial disagreements between him and his brother and asked the detective if he was willing to kill him for payment. Over the course of several meetings with detectives, Hudge provided suggestions on how and where the murder should take place. He provided detectives several Michigan addresses for his brother, offered to pay for transportation to Michigan and to provide a gun and money.
In the final meeting with detectives, Hodge gave an initial payment to detectives for the murder and was taken into custody.

When interviewed, Hudge admitted he intended to hire the undercover detective to murder his brother.
