St. Pete Man Charged With Manslaughter In Accidental Shooting
St. Petersburg Police have arrested a 22-year-old man in the shooting death of 18-year-old Javien Newton of St. Petersburg.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — St. Petersburg Police have arrested a 22-year-old man in the shooting death of 18-year-old Javien Newton of St. Petersburg.
On Nov. 25 shortly after 3 p.m., police responded to 1819 23rd St. S. after a man accidentally shot Newton, who was an acquaintance. Newton was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries and died Dec. 1.
On Wednesday, police charged Sir Richard Evans with manslaughter in Newton's death. Evans was previously arrested for felon in possession of a firearm following the accidental shooting.
