St. Pete Named Worst City for Halloween

The folks at WalletHub ranked 100 of the country's biggest cities to determine the best and worst places to celebrate.

Little ghosts and goblins going from door-to-door in search of treats or tricks might not notice, but one Tampa Bay area town has been ranked the worst place in the country to celebrate Halloween.

According to the folks at WalletHub, St. Petersburg ranks the lowest of the nation’s biggest cities when it comes to places to enjoy the spooky holiday. The website dedicated to personal finance came to this conclusion after ranking 100 of America’s biggest cities based on 16 different metrics. Those metrics included such factors as crime rates, population density, pedestrian fatality rates, the number of Halloween costume stores per 100,000 residents and weather, among other points.

When all the numbers were crunched, St. Petersburg fell to the bottom of the list. Tampa came in 41st place while Orlando received the highest ranking in the Sunshine State at 16th place.
