St. Pete Paramedics Bring Home 1st Place In National Competition

The St. Petersburg Fire Rescue Emergency Medical Services team took first-place during a national competition.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL -- The next time a St. Petersburg resident calls for emergency medical services, he can rest assured he's being helped by one of the top EMS teams in the country.

During the 2019 JEMS Games in National Harbor, Maryland, the St. Petersburg Fire Rescue Emergency Medical Services team took first-place during competitions against 20 other EMS teams.

The Journal of Emergency Medical Services Games, held Feb.. 20-22 during the EMS Today Conference & Expo, are a challenging and educational clinical competition for emergency medical personnel, highlighting cutting-edge simulation technology. The competition challenges teams to appropriately assess and provide efficient patient care during realistic high-pressure scenarios.

In 2018, the Sussex County Emergency Medical Services team took home first place.

The St. Pete paramedics were among more than 4,600 EMS professionals from around the world who attended this year's conference to learn about the most innovative products and services available to the EMS industry.
