St. Pete Police: Drunk Driver Fell Asleep At Wheel, Ran Light
The driver of a Chevrolet Cruze that hit a BMW motorcycle on Gandy Boulevard and killed the rider on June 23 was arrested today, June 27.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL -- The driver of a Chevrolet Cruze that hit a BMW motorcycle on Gandy Boulevard and killed the rider on June 23 was arrested today, June 27.
Dylan Charles Baron, 23, is facing DUI manslaughter and vehicular homicide charges after he ran a red light at Gandy Boulevard and 4th Street North and crashed into Michael P. Majchrowski's motorcycle.
Shortly before midnight, the 2016 BMW motorcycle driven by Majchrowski, 49, was eastbound on Gandy Blvd slowing for the red light at 4th Street North. As the motorcycle approached the red light, the traffic signal changed to green and Majchrowski proceeded without stopping.

The Chevrolet Cruze, driven by Baron, was southbound on 4th Street North. Baron, who had been consuming alcohol, fell asleep while he was driving and ran the red light at Gandy Blvd.
According to the St. Petersburg Police Department, the Chevrolet Cruze hit the motorcycle. Majchrowski, who was wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead at the scene by the St Petersburg Fire Department.
