St. Pete Police Arrest Man For Murder Of Couple Found In Alleyway

St. Petersburg Police have made an arrest in the murder of a couple found in an alleyway.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL -- St. Petersburg Police have made an arrest in the deaths of a couple found in an alleyway.

Charles Hixon Jr., 30, has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of Kenneth Shook, 35, and Cheryl Casey, 58.

Police were flagged down at about 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16 by a resident who said there was a man and woman dead next to a truck in an alleyway behind an abandoned building off 14th Avenue South and 16th Street South.

Police say the investigation led to Hixon who is transient. He was released from prison in April after serving time for a 2009 robbery.
