St. Pete Police Seek Help Identifying Armed Robber

St. Petersburg Police are seeking the public's help to identify an armed robber who beat a St. Petersburg woman and then stole her purse.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL -- St. Petersburg Police are seeking the public's help to identify an armed robber who beat a St. Petersburg woman with a metal pipe and then stole her purse.

The 53-year-old woman was walking in the 3200 block of 66th St. N. on Tuesday, Jan. 16 at about 8:50 p.m. when the robber grabbed her purse and hit her with a pipe, causing serious injury.

A surveillance video shows the woman walking by with her attacker about 12 second behind her.

The robber is described as a black man, in his 20s or 30s, about 5 feet 10 inches tall and 180 pounds. He may be riding a dark-colored mountain bike and wearing a dark UPS NASCAR jacket.
