Two teenage boys are in hot water after police in St. Petersburg say they went on a multiday crime spree that included grand theft auto and an armed carjacking.
The teens, ages 16 and 17, were arrested last Wednesday following two separate incidents that day. The first occurred around 7 p.m. when the two are accused of stealing a 2012 Toyota hatchback from the parking lot of the GTE Credit Union, 5701 38th Ave. N. The teens were able to swipe the car when its 33-year-old driver stepped away and left it running while using an ATM.
A short time later, the same teens are accused of approaching a 44-year-old woman in the Walgreen’s parking lot at 5767 38th Ave. N. In that case, they took the woman’s purse and drove off in the Toyota they swiped earlier.

Later that night, officers saw the stolen Toyota near Terminal Drive South and 24th Street. The teens were brought into custody and connected to both crimes, an email from the department said.
Detectives have also connected the two to a Nov. 10 carjacking that took place in the same Walgreen’s parking lot around 10 p.m. The teens, police say, ordered a 25-year-old woman out of her 2014 Nissan Versa at gunpoint.

The teens have also been charged in a Nov. 11 robbery of a 42-year-old woman in the 2600 block of Bayside Drive Southeast. In that case, the two approached the woman around 9 p.m., pulled a gun and demanded her purse.
Police believe the two may be responsible for more crimes within the city and may have an accomplice.
The teens have been identified as Kevin Sutton, 17, and Keyondrae Jackson, 16.
