St. Pete Today: New Bar, New Play

1.) Have a Tryst on Beach Drive: Tryst Gastro Lounge is opening this week at 240 Beach Drive NE, just across the street from the Museum of Fine Arts. The place has an ornate kind of Victorian elegance, according to one breathless report, with a large selection of wines, imported and craft beers and Mediterranean-inspired food. 

2.) The Play's the Thing: A brand-new play, Evening Prayer by Philip Hall, will be read at American Stage Theatre tonight at 7. The reading will be followed by a Q&A with the author. Admission is $15 in advance, pay what you can at the door. And if you haven't see the American Stage Production of Neil Simon's, curtain time is 7:30 p.m.

3.) Flora and Fauna: The legacy of Flora Wylie, who founded the Garden Club of St. Petersburg more than 80 years ag, will be the main attraction at today's 1 o'clock meeting at the clubhouse, 500 Sunset Drive S. 4.) How to Succed in Business: One way to improve your odds at success is to attend seminars at the . Tonight's topic is "Advertising: How to Make it Work for You." It begins at 6; admission is free. Meanwhile, the MLK Business District will host its quarterly business social today at the Casual Clam Restaurant at 3336 MLK St. Councilor Leslie Curran is the special guest. The event starts at 5 p.m.

5.) The Rays Are in It to Win: The Rays are out of town this week, in Baltimore and then Boston for four.
