St. Petersburg Man Dies After Being Shot In Vacant Parking Lot

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — A St. Petersburg man died Wednesday morning in the hospital from a gunshot wound sustained Tuesday night.

According to St. Petersburg Police, officers arrived in the parking lot of a vacant business at 4611 Haines Road at 11 p.m. Tuesday and found Damien Wiggins Jr., 23, shot. He was transported to the hospital in critical condition and died the following morning.

The shooting is considered a homicide and detectives are continuing to search for the shooter.
