State Of Emergency Extended For Pinellas County
The Pinellas County board of commissioners voted Thursday to extend the local state of emergency for another week during hurricane recovery.

CLEARWATER, FL — The Pinellas County board of commissioners voted Thursday to extend the local state of emergency for another week during hurricane recovery. The board held a special public meeting this morning to extend the declaration, put in place ahead of Hurricane Irma, for another seven days.
The Emergency Operations Center remains activated to coordinate countywide response and recovery activities following the storm. Other county government offices and facilities reopened Thursday morning, aside from parks, preserves and Heritage Village, which will reopen Saturday.
Residents should stay tuned for post-storm updates through local media outlets, the county website (www.pinellascounty.org) and county social media accounts. They are also urged to sign up for Alert Pinellas at www.pinellascounty.org/alertpinellas to receive emergency notifications by phone or text message.
