Summer Camp at the Y: Where Fun Meets Personal Development!

Summer Camp at the Y Keeps Youth Active & Engaged all Summer Long

During Summer Camp, children have the opportunity to make friends, have fun, get active and build confidence through a variety of activities and experiences.

Attending camp is so much more than a fun way to pass the months before a new school year. Summer Camp at the Y is a building block for personal development – physically, socially and academically.

Studies have shown that students can lose up to two months of math, reading and writing skills during the summer, leading to a significant gap in learning. This means at the beginning of each school year, teachers spend a significant amount of time reteaching old material to students. Staying active and engaged during the summer moths is vital to minimizing the summer learning gap.

Our Summer Camp curriculum was designed to close that gap while integrating physical exercise, structured and spontaneous play, literacy, and STEM-based activities. Plus, our campers enjoy field trips, guest speakers, and community service opportunities.

One-week specialty camps focus on a special interest like dance, sports, culinary arts and outdoor adventures. In these camps, children can expand their horizons while they explore their favorite hobbies, take on an adventure or try something brand new.
