Suncoast Health Council Joins Bone Health For PRIDE Month Celebration
A free online program is aimed at educating case managers and supervisors about bone health for people living with HIV.

Suncoast Health Council and the Bone Health & Osteoporosis Foundation are joining forces in celebration of PRIDE month by launching a free online program to help educate case managers and Ryan White Case supervisors about bone health for those living with HIV.
“We are pleased to announce the launch of this important campaign to educate and inform our
case workers, who in turn, can assist their clients in understanding the impact of antiretroviral
medications on their bone health,” shared Elizabeth Rugg, Executive Director of Suncoast
Health Council.
Learning about bone fractures is important for those living with HIV, especially with bone fracture rates being double or four times the general population. Participants who complete the course will receive complimentary Bone Health kits for clients. 1 in 2 women and 1 in 4 men over the age of 50 will break a bone due to osteoporosis.
