Lanes Reopened On 34th Street S After Suspicious Package Cleared

St. Petersburg police has reopened 34th St. S near 18th Ave. S after the Tampa Bomb Squad cleared a suspicious package found, police said.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — All lanes of 34th Street South have reopened near 18th Avenue South in St. Petersburg where a suspicious package was found on a nearby sidewalk Tuesday afternoon, law enforcement officials said.

St. Petersburg police and the Tampa Bomb Squad closed off all lanes of 34th Street South as both agencies investigated the package.

The device turned out to be a harmless homemade medical device, the St. Petersburg Police Department said.
