TAMPA BAY, FL — Looking for something fun to do this weekend in the Tampa Bay area? There’s something for every interest — Tampa Beer Run, Veganfest Sarasota, Maifest and an all-breeds cat show.

Fallen Heroes Memorial 5K

Join the Lakeland Police Foundation for the 2023 Fallen Hero Memorial 5K on the Three Parks Trail just north of the Lakeland YMCA and ending at Peterson Park on Saturday morning. On-site registration will open at 6 a.m. and the race will start approximately at 7 a.m.

Tampa Beer Run

This 5K run on Saturday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Al Lopez Park in Tampa benefits the Humane Society of Tampa Bay. The run features beer samplings along the course and an after party.

Cat Lovers Paradise All-Breeds Cat Show

Judges from around the world will judge all breeds of cats in numerous rings at the Cat Lovers Paradise, an International All-Breed Cat Show, Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Banquet Masters in Clearwater. Watch judges from around the world judge and educate on 25+ breeds of cats. Browse the hall to see your favorite breeds: Persian, Himalayan, Maine Coons, Bengals, Sphynx, Orientals, shorthair, longhair, no hair and more. Adoptable kittens and cats will be available through the rescue groups attending.

Taste of Ethnicity

The city of Clearwater is launching an event series titled "Living the Culture" that celebrates the city's diversity. The first event will bea “Taste of Ethnicity" on Saturday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., in the 600 Block of Cleveland Street in downtown Clearwater. It will include live music, art, food and cultural performances.

Maifest

Enjoy a day around the Maibaumwith live German music, culture, and your favorite German foods on Saturday, noon to 7 p.m., at the German American Society in Pinellas Park.

LEADS Mardi Gras Masquerade Fundraiser

Enjoy this Mardi Gras Masquerade Brunch Fundraiser in support of Life-skills Empowerment and Development Services Saturday, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., at 200 6th Ave S, St. Petersburg. There will be a delicious brunch, live music from the Beat Down Band, and a silent auction featuring unique items and experiences.

Tampa Bay Hemp Festival

This St. Petersburg festival at 31 Grand runs Saturday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and features educational seminars, music, food, vendors and activities promoting hemp use

St. Pete Business Fest

The St. Pete Business Fest with STEAM Kidz Zone & KidPreneur Expo will be hosted by Ignite Youth Incorporated, a nonprofit organization Saturday, noon to 6 p.m., at Williams Park in downtown St. Petersburg. Business owners and brand owners will find an engaging and inspiring atmosphere where they can learn, network and grow their business. The STEAM Kidz Zone will feature a variety of interactive exhibits and activities for kids of all ages, while the KidPreneur Expo will showcase young entrepreneurs and their innovative ideas.

Pride at the Village

Saturday’s Pride at the Village, which takes place 2 to 8 p.m., will feature drag performers, including headliner Ginger Minj, who starred on “RuPaul’s Drag Race” season seven, as well as the movie “Hocus Pocus 2.” Storytime hosted by the Barbara S. Ponce Library kicks off the Pride arts festival at 2 p.m. After that, once the drag pageant, which takes place from 4 to 6 p.m., and the drag show, which runs from 6 to 8 p.m., start, the performance tent will switch over to 18+ only. There’s also a family-friendly festival and other events throughout the evening.

Veganfest Sarasota

This event, which takes place Sunday, starting at 11 a.m. at Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota, will feature live music, a family fun zone, vendors, food trucks, education and lots of vegan food. VIP tickets are available.

West Pasco Art Guild People’s Choice Award Ceremony

The West Pasco Art Guild will host the“You’re Going to Need a Bigger Boat”art show through May 29, at 6206 Jefferson St., in New Port Richey. The gallery and gift shop will be open on Tuesdays from 9 a.m. to noon, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and Saturdays from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. There will be a reception and People’s Choice Awards ceremony on May 21 from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m., featuring wine and hors d’oeuvres, art raffles and more.
