Teen Charged With Threatening Shooting At Pinellas County School

SEMINOLE, FL — A 14-year-old is facing charges after authorities said he threatened a mass shooting at a Pinellas County high school.

According to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office, the Richard O. Jacobson Technical High School student was arrested Monday after making the threat in a Snapchat post. Authorities said the boy wrote, "Let a single one of these mfs look at me the wrong way im shooting up the school."

Patch is not identifying the teen because he's a minor.

Authorities made contact with the boy, who admitted to making the post but told deputies he meant it as a joke because he was nervous about attending a new school.

Following his arrest, the teen was charged with one count of written threats to kill or conduct a mass shooting.
