Teen Girl Arrested For Posting School Threat On Snapchat

An 18-year-old St. Petersburg woman has been arrested for posting school threats on the social media site, Snapchat.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL -- An 18-year-old St. Petersburg woman has been arrested for posting school threats on the social media site, Snapchat.

The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office arrested Hanlin M. Majewski of the 6700 block of Cardinal Drive South, St. Petersburg, just after midnight on Monday, Dec. 3, after receiving a tip that around 10 p.m. Sunday Majewski posted a photo of a man wearing a black tactical vest and pointing a handgun at the camera with the caption, "don't come to school tomorrow."

Deputies went to Majewski's home and she admitted that she took the photograph on her phone earlier that evening and typed the caption "don't come to school tomorrow" before posting it on her Snapchat account.

Majewski said that the photograph was a picture of her boyfriend's 17-year-old brother holding a fake gun. Majewski told deputies she meant no harm by posting the image.

Through the course of the investigation, deputies identified the 17-year-old boy pictured in the photograph. Deputies made contact with the boy's parents and recovered a black tactical vest and a black airsoft BB gun. Deputies learned that the 17-year-old boy was playing with the airsoft BB gun when Majewski took his photograph.

Deputies arrested Majewski and transported her to the Pinellas County Jail without incident. She is charged with one count of threatening communications or threats of mass shootings.

Deputies say Majewski was a student at Gibbs High School until last school year. Currently she is a student at Florida Virtual School. The 17-year-old boy is home-schooled.
