Thieves Have Security Needs, Too

At least that seems to be the case in Florida where a man is accused of taking a five-finger discount on two security camera kits.

A thief in St. Petersburg seems to have had a need to beef up his home security and police have the video footage to prove it.

Now Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office deputies are looking for a little help to identify the man they say walked into the Walmart at 10237 Bay Pines Blvd. and helped himself to two security camera kits.

The incident unfolded around 4:47 a.m. Sept. 6 when deputies say a man went into the store, got a cart and then loaded up on two video camera kits. What he may not have counted on, however, is Walmart’s own security cameras catching the whole thing on film. He’s seen on the store’s surveillance video walking out with the camera kits in hand.

While the man was inside the store, Walmart surveillance cameras also spotted the vehicle he was in circling the lot. By the time the man exited with the security cameras, the silver sedan was waiting for him with the rear passenger door wide open.

The man cops are looking for is described as being between the age of 25 and 35. He was last seen wearing a black T-shirt, long camo cargo shorts, a ball camp and black shoes. The car he was in is a silver four-door sedan. Police say it could be a 90’s model Honda.
