Winn-Dixie presents The Beef People Rodeo this Thursday

Tampa Bay residents are invited to Winn-Dixie’s The Beef People Rodeo for live music, family-friendly activities, live entertainment and delicious samples from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, June 1, in the parking lot of the Winn-Dixie store on Gandy Boulevard.

Tampa-based country band, Soul Circus Cowboys will set the tone of the event while guests enjoy a range of rodeo-themed activities, including mechanical bull rides!

The Winn-Dixie The Beef People heritage will be brought to life at this authentic rodeo event. Rodeo guests are encouraged to ride the mechanical bull to support their Tampa Bay community AND to earn rewards. For every second they stay on the bull, Winn-Dixie will donate $1 worth of protein to Feeding Tampa Bay. Each dollar donated to Feeding Tampa Bay equals 10 meals to a family in need. Customers can also win 100 Winn-Dixie + Plenti Rewards points for every second they ride the bull, up to eight seconds. That’s up to 800 Plenti points!

“One in seven adults and one in four children in Tampa Bay struggle with hunger and cannot afford the healthier, more nutritious foods like fruits, vegetables and proteins,” said Thomas Mantz, Executive Director of Feeding Tampa Bay. “We are grateful that our retail partners, including all of the local Winn-Dixie stores, are committed to strengthening our community through donations of these perishable food items. It is through partnerships like this that we can ensure all of our neighbors in need have access to foods that are important to their health.”

Additional rodeo activities include a petting zoo, miniature horse rides, face painting, delicious Winn-Dixie beef samples and much more.
