Homicide Suspect Dead After Jumping From St. Pete Parking Garage: SPD

A 70-year-old woman was found dead in her Beach Drive condo in downtown St. Pete, police said. Her boyfriend is suspected of killing her.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL - The suspect in a downtown St. Petersburg homicide investigation is dead after jumping from the top floor of the Sundial parking garage at 117 2nd Street N. on Thursday morning, authorities said.

In a news release, St. Petersburg police said that Tracy Lee Lukanic, 57, is suspected of killing his girlfriend, Deborah Ann Haugh.

The 70-year-old woman was found dead in her downtown St. Petersburg condo Thursday afternoon, police said.

When Haugh failed to show up for plans with a friend, they became concerned and asked maintenance workers to check her condo at Parkshore Plaza, 300 Beach Drive NE, according to police.

Officers determined that she died from “violent trauma.”

Before identifying Lukanic as the suspect, investigators said that Haugh and her killer likely knew each other, and her homicide wasn’t a random act.

“There is no threat to the community,” police said.
