Yoga studio shooting in Tallahassee touches close to home

Community yoga class to benefit victims and their families this Saturday in Madeira Beach

Local studio, Madeira Beach Yoga, is hosting a community yoga class on Saturday, November 17, 2018 from 4pm-5pm to benefit the Hot Yoga Tallahassee shooting victims and their families. The class takes place on Madeira Beach Yoga’s Patio, in the Madeira Beach Recreation Center campus at 200 Rex Place, Madeira Beach, Fl. 33708.

The recent shooting at Hot Yoga Tallahassee left one yoga community feeling lost and broken and reached close to home here in St. Petersburg. Hot Yoga Tallahassee was the home studio of local yoga instructor, Elise Caruthers. Ms. Caruthers taught at the Tallahassee studio before relocating to St. Petersburg, where she now teaches for Madeira Beach Yoga. She will lead a slow flow yoga class to foster healing and raise money for the victims and their families.

In their honor, this class will bring the yoga community together to heal and unite. The intention is to send light and love to those needing it most and to celebrate the two souls lost that evening – Dr. Nancy Van Vessem and Maura Binkley.
