Tallahassee Man Sentenced to Decade in Federal Prison for Child Exploitation Crimes & Firearm Possession by Felon (justice.gov) — A Tallahassee man has been sentenced to 10 years in federal prison after a local undercover operation by Tallahassee Police and Leon County deputies caught him attempting to exploit a minor online and carrying a firearm as a felon. The case, part of national child-protection initiatives, means he'll face five years of supervised release and sex offender registration after prison, underscoring ongoing local efforts to safeguard children.

Investigators say former state employees helped approve false claims, leading to multiple grand theft and fraud charges. State financial officials report the investigation is still unfolding.
