The case, part of national child-protection initiatives, means he'll face five years of supervised release and sex offender registration after prison, underscoring ongoing local efforts to safeguard children.

Investigators say former state employees helped approve false claims, leading to multiple grand theft and fraud charges. State financial officials report the investigation is still unfolding.
