Great Books Annual "Fall Conversations" Conference

    Are you interested in discussing relevant and controversial topics of the day, particularly pertinent this election year, in a civil and comfortable atmosphere?  Then join us for the Tampa Bay Great Books Council's Third Annual  "Fall Conversations."   "RELIGION AND POLITICS IN AMERICA: WHERE DO WE DRAW THE LINE?"

Registrants will receive a reading package which will include: an introductory article and bibliography for further readings from the internet; John Locke's Essay on Toleration; and President John F. Kennedy's 1960 speech on church-state relations.  The morning discussion will focus on the broader philosophical aspects of the topic, while the afternoon session will emphasize more specific questions of the American political culture of religion and politics.  Both morning and afternoon sessions will use full group and break-out group discussions with different moderators and a full group summation session to conclude the conference.

REGISTRATION  IS LIMITED TO 30 PERSONS.
