• Residents fear more flooding in The Acreage after 9 inches of rain (wptv.com) — Flooded streets, yards and canals in The Acreage have many residents anxious as another round of heavy rain is forecast this weekend, just after about 9 inches overwhelmed local drainage. Indian Trail Improvement District crews are working around the clock to lower water levels and handle complaints, but officials warn the system’s limits and urge neighbors to clear swales and avoid driving through standing water.
   

• A Bishop for His Time: Manuel Rodriguez New Voice of Catholic Church (bocaratontribune.com) — Catholics in The Acreage may eventually see a new parish as Bishop Manuel de Jesus Rodríguez identifies the community, along with Westlake and Tradition, as prime growth areas for the Diocese of Palm Beach. The energetic, immigrant-focused bishop is crisscrossing the region, expanding ministries and speaking out for immigrants’ rights while planning how the church can keep pace with Florida’s rapid population boom.
