• Volunteers clean up Treasure Island Beach (baynews9.com) — Treasure Island residents and volunteers just turned out more than 60-strong to clean trash from the beach and nearby waters, especially around Sunset Vista Park. Organized by Treasure Island Adopt a Beach, the effort focused on protecting marine life, educating visitors about litter, and encouraging locals to take ongoing responsibility for keeping the city's shoreline pristine.
   

• South Pinellas Business News Roundup for August 2026 (thegabber.com) — A Gulfport bakery, Heavenly Eats & Sweets, closed in mid-August but its owners say they hope to reopen in Treasure Island or nearby Madeira Beach, which could bring a new dessert spot closer to you. The broader roundup also highlights new restaurants, cafes, and bar concepts opening across South Pinellas, from Seminole to downtown St. Petersburg.
