Police say two Texas men traveled to Venice for the robbery, allegedly firing toward a relative who came to help before fleeing. Investigators are still looking into whether a third person acted as a getaway driver.

Venice to clean up emergency succession process (yoursun.com) — Venice’s City Council has advanced an ordinance to fix how leadership succession works during emergencies, ensuring replacements comply with Florida’s Constitution and can be appointed or elected on clear timelines.
