New e-bike rules coming to Wellington: Age limits, ID requirements and speed caps approved (wpbf.com) — If you or your kids ride e-bikes in Wellington, new rules will soon require riders to be at least 15, carry ID, follow a 15‑mph limit on sidewalks and obey helmet laws. The ordinance also bans e-bikes from spots like Wellington Town Center, neighborhood parks and the Heart Trail, with fines for violations and similar rules for scooters and golf carts.
   

2. Elderly woman accused of stealing nearly $2,000 worth of merchandise from Wellington Mall (cbs12.com) — Deputies say an elderly woman was detained after loss-prevention staff at Macy's in The Mall at Wellington Green allegedly watched her conceal merchandise for hours and leave without paying. According to PBSO, about $1,800 in goods were recovered, and she now faces grand theft and related charges tied to the Wellington store incident.
   

3. 2027 Florida small forward names Tennessee basketball in top schools (usatoday.com) — A four-star small forward, Markus Kerr of Charlotte, North Carolina, has included Tennessee among his top college choices while playing for Wellington Sports Academy in Wellington. The 2027 recruit, ranked among Florida's top prospects, holds offers from numerous major programs but has yet to visit the Vols as they continue building future classes.
   

4. Pair of Orlando men convicted for role in Cartel-directed armed robbery plot (cbs12.com) — Federal prosecutors say two Orlando men have been convicted in a Sinaloa Cartel-directed plot to rob a supposed South Florida drug trafficker, who turned out to be an undercover officer. While the case unfolded regionally, it's linked in coverage to a separate alleged theft at Wellington Mall, underscoring broader law-enforcement efforts against organized crime in South Florida.
