Grassy Waters Preserve Receives 2020 Best Of West Palm Beach Award

Grassy Waters Preserve of West Palm Beach has been selected for the 2020 Best of West Palm Beach Award in the Nature Preserve category by the West Palm Beach Award Program. The Award was established to recognize the best of local businesses and services in the community. Recognition is given to those who have shown the ability to use their best practices and programs to generate long-term value.

Grassy Waters Preserve is a 23-square mile ecosystem that provides drinking water for the City of West Palm Beach, Town of Palm Beach, and Town of South Palm Beach. The Preserve also provides hands-on educational programs and experiences for learners of all ages.

“I am very proud of the Nature Center staff’s ability to adapt to the COVID-19 pandemic and develop training and information modules to continue the education program,” said Dr. Poonam Kalkat, Director of City of West Palm Beach Public Utilities. “These programs are critical to educating the younger generation, and to keeping the general public engaged and informed engaged.”

The West Palm Beach Award Program recognized Grassy Waters Preserve as “exceptional” for its hands-on educational programs for enhancing the Preserve through service to its visitors and community and for helping to make West Palm Beach a great place in which to live, work and play.
