Lake Worth Christian School Alum Selected For Television Academy Foundation Internship In Hollywood

Lake Worth Christian School alumna Kaela Nicholls has been selected for the prestigious Television Academy Foundation Internship program. She is one of 40 students chosen by Television Academy members from across the country for the 2026 Summer Internship program. The Foundation offers paid internships at top Hollywood studios and production companies annually to college students nationwide.

Nicholls is a rising senior at Loyola Marymount University majoring in writing and producing for television. She will be a drama writing intern this summer at Miramax Television in Los Angeles through the Foundation’s program.

“I’ve been wanting to be in a real writers' room for more than a decade now,” said Nicholls. “It’s surreal that I finally have the opportunity to absorb the television storytelling process firsthand.

“I want to become a showrunner and foster emotional intelligence whilst simultaneously offering a sense of comical escapism that many viewers, especially minorities who are often the victims of society’s pitfalls, crave,” said Nicholls. “I'd love to utilize my humor and affinity with surrealism to platform underserved communities by intertwining entertainment with enlightenment.”

Originally from Lake Worth, Florida, Nicholls attended Lake Worth Christian School in Boynton Beach.

The Television Academy Foundation shapes the art of creating television by engaging and educating the next generation of television professionals, providing essential resources that help them discover their voices, refine their skills and forge rewarding careers in every sector of the television industry. The Internship program provides over 50 students from across the nation with hands-on work experience and networking opportunities for accelerated career development in more than 30 disciplines annually.
