Mandel Public Library Of West Palm Beach To Reopen Sept. 14

Beginning, Monday, September 14, 2020, the Mandel Public Library of West Palm Beach will officially open to business with limited in-person services. To help plan your visit, please note the following adjustments made to help improve the safety and experience of our valued library patrons during COVID-19:

• HOURS: The library will have new, temporary open hours in order to allow for cleaning and sanitizing of the library nightly. These hours are as follows:
• Sunday, 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM
• Monday – Thursday, 9:30 AM – 7:00 PM
• Friday – Saturday, 9:30 AM – 5:00 PM.

Patrons will be able to browse the library’s collection but are asked to limit their visit to one hour. Library materials that are checked out and used will be subject to a 96-hour quarantine before being returned to library shelves.

• FACIAL COVERINGS/MASKS: Patrons and staff are required to wear a facial covering or mask, at all times, while visiting the library.
• SOCIAL DISTANCING:
• COMPUTERS: Computer use will be limited to one-hour per day on a first come, first serve basis. A limited number of computers will be made available to follow the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) social distancing guideline.
• SEATING: Seating areas have been rearranged and/or removed to allow for 6 feet of social distancing.

The following services will remain available to our patrons: access to a free library card, the library’s digital library collection, resume and job help by phone or email, virtual programs and workshops as well as access to virtual homework centers for children and teens. Patrons can also continue to place holds on materials directly through the library’s online catalog, call the library at (561) 868-7701 (TTY: 800-955-8771), or email requests to mpl@wpbcitylibrary.org. When materials are ready, they can be picked up from within the library.
