More Florida Populations Now Eligible For Coronavirus Vaccine

Individuals determined by a physician to be extremely vulnerable to COVID-19 may be vaccinated, according to Gov. DeSantis' executive order.

Effective March 3, 2021, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis will expand the list of populations eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine to include:

  • Long-term care facility residents and staff;
  • Persons 65 years of age and older;
  • Health care personnel with direct patient contact;
  • K-12 school employees 50 years of age and older;
  • Sworn law enforcement officers 50 years of age and older; and
  • Firefighters 50 years of age and older.

In addition, individuals determined by a physician to be extremely vulnerable to COVID-19 may also be vaccinated. Such physician determinations shall include a statement that the patient meets the defined eligibility criteria established by a form prescribed by the Florida Department of Health.
