Florida city bets $1 rides can help drivers skip short car trips (wheninyourstate.com) — West Palm Beach has launched West Palm Move, a $1 fixed-route and $2 on-demand electric shuttle network connecting Northwood Village, downtown, and the Norton Museum, with frequent service on weekdays and weekends. Funded through local development and parking revenues, the service aims to ease congestion and parking pressure while giving residents, workers, and visitors a convenient, zero-tailpipe-emission option for short trips around the city.
   

2. Pause doesn't mean flight-path lawsuit is over (stetnews.org) — Residents in West Palm Beach and Palm Beach face lasting jet noise as local and county officials pause, but do not end, their lawsuit over new flight paths around President Donald J. Trump International Airport and Mar-a-Lago. The FAA plans a permanent no-fly zone over the club, affecting thousands of homes, while a major runway reconstruction next year will temporarily shift noise to different neighborhoods.
   

3. West Palm Beach woman arrested in wrong-way DUI crash that killed Lantana man (wptv.com) — A 36-year-old West Palm Beach woman has been arrested on DUI and vehicular homicide charges after a wrong-way crash on the Southern Boulevard overpass at Jog Road that fatally injured a Lantana driver. Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office investigators say she was driving east in the westbound lanes just after 6 a.m., and the case remains under investigation.
   

4. Florida adds 21,800 jobs as unemployment falls to 4.5% (thecentersquare.com) — Florida's job market ticked up in August, and the West Palm Beach–Boca Raton–Delray Beach metro added a solid 4,800 positions as unemployment statewide dipped to 4.5%. Local gains were part of broader growth in education, health, and professional services, though some sectors like finance and government shed jobs across the state.
